Quadro is a multicolor 3D printer with four independent toolheads on a single X-axis. Each toolhead has its own filament, motor and nozzle, so colors and materials never share a nozzle, and a color change is a movement of about a second instead of a filament swap. It has a 300 × 300 × 300 mm build volume, sealed QDock parking stations and no color-clearing purge.
This page is the starting point: what Quadro is, who it's for and where to read more.
What Quadro Is
- IQEX architecture: four toolheads on a single X-axis, each independent. See How Quadro Coordinates Four Independent Toolheads.
- No color purging: every color has its own nozzle. On compatible models, Zero Waste Mode removes the prime tower too. See Why Quadro Doesn't Purge and Zero Waste Mode.
- Fast tool changes: about a second. See How Quadro Makes Tool Changes Faster.
- QDock: two stations where idle toolheads wait with sealed nozzles. See Inside QDock.
- Automatic calibration and a touchscreen built for four toolheads. See calibration and the interface.
- A rigid open frame with a 300 mm build volume. See Bed-Slinger Simplicity. No Bed-Slinger Flex.
- Open source: QuadrOS on Klipper and Co Slicer on OrcaSlicer. See QuadrOS, Klipper and Co Slicer.
Who Quadro Is For
- Makers and hobbyists: full-size multicolor prints without paying for purge waste. See How to Start Multicolor 3D Printing and Is a Multicolor 3D Printer Right for Home Use?.
- Families and education: four colors, open access and little attention needed. See Multicolor 3D Printing with Kids, Families and in the Classroom.
- Print farms and small businesses: waste is a line item, and this removes most of it. See Multicolor 3D Printing for Print Farms.
- Prototyping and engineering: multi-material assemblies straight off the plate. See Multi-Material Prototyping.
Add-Ons
Quadro's add-ons will include an enclosure, a filament dryer box and nozzle sets, with details to come. See Open Frame, Enclosure Add-On, Filament Dryer Box and Nozzles for Quadro.

3. FAQ
What is Quadro? A multicolor 3D printer with four independent toolheads on a single X-axis, each with its own filament, motor and nozzle.
Does Quadro purge filament when it changes color? No. Every color has its own toolhead, so no color-clearing purge is needed. A prime tower only stabilizes pressure, and on compatible models Zero Waste Mode removes it.
How big is the build volume? 300 × 300 × 300 mm, with full access for every toolhead.
What software does Quadro use? QuadrOS, built on unforked Klipper, with Co Slicer, which is built on OrcaSlicer.
Where can I follow Quadro's Kickstarter? On the Kickstarter page and the reservation page linked on this site.
