Co Print ChromaBox: A Cost-Effective Multi-Color Printing Solution for Marlin-Based 3D Printers!

 

ChromaSet Lite is the affordable way to unlock multi-color printing for your Marlin-based 3D printer. At the heart of this set is the ChromaBox, which upgrades your printer by adding full Klipper control and seamless compatibility with the KCM Set.

ChromaBox comes pre-installed with Klipper, Mainsail, and all essential software — no complex setup required. To get started, just connect it to your Wi-Fi or LAN network, then upload your printer’s configuration files from our Wiki page via Mainsail. If preferred, ChromaBox is also compatible with the Fluidd interface.

 

ChromaBox features a quad-core 1.9 GHz processor, 2 GB RAM, and 16 GB internal storage, capable of handling multiple printers simultaneously without lag  ensuring a stable and smooth multi-color printing experience.

Hardware setup is simple:

Connect the ChromaHead to the head port on the KCM.

Plug the 4 CX-I extruders into the extruder ports on the KCM.

Link the KCM to the ChromaBox using a Type-C to USB cable.

Finally, connect the ChromaBox to your 3D printer using a standard USB cable.

Unlike the ChromaSet, it includes the newly developed ChromaBox instead of the ChromaPad, making it a more affordable solution. Thanks to ChromaBox, the KCM Set can be connected directly to Marlin 3D printers. Thanks to ChromaBox, you can now use the KCM Set on Marlin-based 3D printers without needing a ChromaPad. Simply connect the KCM to the ChromaBox via USB, then link the ChromaBox to your Marlin printer. This gives you full Klipper control while also enabling multi-color printing on your machine.

 

 

 

Remote Control

Can be remotely controlled via Mainsail & Fluidd

ChromaBox works seamlessly with Mainsail. You can control your printer from a tablet, phone, or computer, and access custom settings and macros for your multi-color printing system directly through the Mainsail interface. Mainsail comes pre-installed on the ChromaBox, so no additional setup is required.

Screen Specs

Simple yet effective screen

The ChromaBox screen offers three core features. First, it displays the system’s IP address, making it easy to connect to Mainsail & Fluidd. Additionally, it includes a clock that appears on the screen—perfect for showing the current time in your timelapse videos when the printer and ChromaBox are captured in the same frame. Lastly, the screen provides real-time feedback for actions such as restarts, startups, and error notifications.

Connections on the ChromaBox

The ChromaBox features two USB 2.0 ports and one USB 3.0 port. In addition to built-in Wi-Fi, it also includes a LAN port for wired connectivity. For power, it has a dedicated power socket, and video output is provided via an HDMI port. If needed, you can also expand its storage using the external microSD card slot.

Wifi 5 GHZ Support & Easy Connection

In addition to its built-in LAN port, ChromaBox also supports high-speed 5GHz Wi-Fi connectivity. To connect to Wi-Fi, simply open the configuration file on your computer, enter your network name and password in the designated fields, and insert the USB drive into the ChromaBox.
