Dear Backers,
First of all, we would like to thank you for your continuous interest and support in our project. In this update, we will share insights from our production processes and images of our completed products.
We will present an unboxing video and the box contents of a sample from the serial production of ChromaHotend. Additionally, the stable version 1.0.0 of ChromaScreen has been released. We will also share a detailed review video that includes all the functions of this version.
We are thrilled to announce that the shipments of our products will start at the end of August and continue into the first weeks of September. During this period, we have focused a significant portion of our investment on our engineering and R&D teams, dedicating a substantial part of our efforts there. As a result, we acknowledge that we may have lacked in some areas on the community side, and we aim to address this by focusing more on this aspect. In July, we will hold an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session on Discord, with the exact date to be announced through our social media channels.
At the end of August, we will visit China for the second time to closely monitor the production of our products, organize shipping processes, and expand our collaborations.
We are starting our content sharing according to our schedule. We will send our products to you, our valuable supporters who have supported us from the beginning of the project, before any content creators. In our first video, 3D Printing Doctor will visit our office to share updates about our process and products. You will be able to access our review, maintenance, setup, unboxing, and guide videos through our social media channels and YouTube account.
To ensure that KCM has a flawless and high-quality appearance, we have revised the injection molds multiple times to achieve perfection. We have applied a special surface treatment around the main concept of the Series II product family, the II logo. Here are the photos of the molds used for the production of thousands of KCM units:
We aimed to maintain the same standards and quality while creating the injection mold for the ECM product.
The entire production processes and testing phases of our KCM and ECM products have been completed. Let’s take a closer look at the final versions together:
When we examine the Klipper Chroma Module (KCM) and ECM, we see that the KCM is slightly larger than the ECM. This is because the KCM's circuit board includes integrated components that can also control the ChromaHead and feature the Input Shaper functionality. Both products feature a matte and textured surface on their enclosures. The top cover of the products is designed with a glossy surface around the Series II logo, making the logo stand out. There are passive ventilation channels designed for the lower and upper edges to allow the internal circuits to operate comfortably at optimal temperatures. The ECM's circuit, on the other hand, does not have components that heat up, so it can work optimally even without ventilation channels. Therefore, the lower and upper edges of the ECM are designed simply.
On the left side of the KCM, there is a Type-C socket, enabling a stable and fast connection to 3D printers. Next to it is the ChromaHead socket, and at the end, there is a power socket for the adapter connection. On the right side of the KCM, there are slots to control 4 extruder motors. The left side of the ECM includes a Type-C socket for connecting to the KCM or ChromaPad and a power socket for the adapter connection. On the other side, there are sockets to drive 4 extruder motors. The ECM is highly compact and small in design. With its space-saving design, it is suitable for all usage areas and can elegantly add 4 more extruder controls to your KCM or ChromaSet with the Extended Chroma Module.
The injection mold production for ChromaPad and CX-I Extruder has been successfully completed, and mass production is proceeding smoothly. We are delighted to share the images of the first test products from the molds with you.
The optimization, testing, and production processes of the injection mold for ChromaHead, the most critical part of our product family, are ongoing, and we are about to start mass production. Unfortunately, due to a change in the electronic board and components of ChromaHead, the process has been delayed. This is the main reason we have postponed the delivery date to the end of August.
Since our last update, we would also like to share with you some colored print samples made with ChromaHead.
All production processes of ChromaHotend have been completed. Packaging and documentation have also been finalized. Now, let's unbox a ChromaHotend straight from the production line and review its contents together.
The beta testing of Chromscreen is ongoing. Developed as open-source by our company, our software has been continually evolving since its first version. With each new release, new functions are added, and existing bugs are fixed.
Due to the commencement of production and logistical planning, we are locking the ability to make changes to Kickstarter orders. However, you can still add or modify products via PledgeBox. Supporters who haven't yet provided their address and shipping information should complete the user surveys sent via PledgeBox and arrange for shipping payments.
Last chance to take advantage of exclusive offers on Pledgebox! You can add or modify products in your orders until August.
You can watch our video (releasing very soon) where we evaluated the Kickstarter process and reviewed the latest updates on the products with 3D Printing Doctor and our Sales Manager Ömer, who visited our office. Additionally, you can read a blog post from our co-founder Fatih's perspective, detailing our campaign's progress, the challenges we've faced, and how we've overcome them.
We sincerely thank all our supporters for being with us on this journey. Your patience and continuous support play a significant role in the success of our project. We look forward to sharing more exciting updates with you in the future. Wishing you healthy and happy days ahead!
After this update, we will be shifting our focus from production and delivery dates to fully concentrating on the features of our products and discussing future 3D printing technologies as a community. We will be sharing broadcasts, content, and updates on these topics. We invite you to join us on our Discord channel.
